ENTREPRENEUR – FOUNDER OF MCKINOUGH LTD

Jane McKinough

Jane is an entrepreneur and founder of McKinough LTD – a web design agency based in Vancouver BC. Shortly after graduating from the University of British Columbia for Media Information Technology, she began consulting with clients to improve their digital presence. Only 1 year out of her undergraduate she launched her design agency and has designed over 500 professional business websites to date.

Jane will discuss the difficulties of working to a client’s needs while remaining 100% virtual. She will outline the challenges and her steps in overcoming the barriers of remote work. She will also share the benefits, joys and ease of managing a digital workforce.

Simone Appleseed

Simone received her MBA from the University of Toronto in 2009 and is the youngest CEO in the history of Alphatech Inc. Before her time at Alphatech, she worked at a small operation in New York City. Throughout her time at Alphatech, she’s realized 8% increases in organizational profit year over year.

As CEO of Alphatech Inc. Simone is responsible for managing multiple teams. She will discuss the process of transitioning to a 100% virtual work environment and how this process has actually increased team cohesiveness along with productivity.

Adam Woodstock

After having received his MBA from McGill University in Montreal, Adam ventured into small business operations specializing in wealth management. This journey led him to Fintech Solutions where he is now Director of Operations. His team provides accurate and updated insight into foreign exchange currencies, potential stock investments, and more.

Fintech Director of Operations, Adam Woodstock, will present the change in work culture as teams moved to remote work. In his presentation, he will be outlining the structural changes put in place to accommodate for such a change in workspaces, along with the impact this has on staff morale. Most importantly Adam will reflect on the benefits this change gives his staff – the choice of remaining a remote worker.
