Inquest into the Deaths of Yao Tuan Li, Qium Moniz Rego and John Mensen
Mr. Li, 45, died on November 27, 2014; Mr. Moniz Rego, 22, died on October 27, 2017; and Mr. Mensen, 57, died on July 03, 2018. They died from injuries sustained due to structural collapses at construction projects. An inquest into their deaths is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding these deaths. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest is expected to last ten days and hear from seven witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023. Dr. Geoffrey Bond will be the Presiding Officer and Jai Dhar will be Inquest Counsel.
