Inquest into the Death of Terry Baker
Ms. Baker, 30, died in hospital on July 6, 2016, after being transferred from the Grand Valley Institution for Women. An inquest into her death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Ms. Baker’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths from occurring in similar circumstances.
After hearing submissions from the parties, the presiding officer has ruled that the inquest into the death of Terry Baker, scheduled to begin on April 11, 2023, will be postponed.
