Inquest into the Death of Teresa Gratton

Ms. Gratton, 50, died in hospital on October 30, 2017, after transfer from the Vanier Centre for Women in Milton. An inquest into her death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Ms. Gratton’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last 15 days and hear from approximately 21 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023. Dr. David Eden will be the presiding officer and Graeme Leach will be inquest counsel.
