Inquest into the Death of Ryan Rawson-Keeley

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. Dr. Geoffrey Bond will be the presiding officer and Robert Kozak will be the inquest counsel.

Mr. Rawson-Keeley, 38 years old, died on March 2, 2021, while in custody at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Rawson-Keeley’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last ten days and hear from approximately 10 witnesses.
