Inquest into the Death of Robyn Garlow
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025. Dr. Geoffrey Bond will be the presiding officer and Kate Forget will be the inquest counsel.
Ms. Garlow, 30 years old, died in hospital on October 20, 2018, following an interaction with officers from the Hamilton Police Service. An inquest into her death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Ms. Garlow’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest is expected to last four days and hear from approximately five witnesses.

The Presiding Officer has directed that no person shall make any recording or take photos or screen captures of the Inquest from either the video conference or the live stream of the Inquest over the internet. For greater clarity, no person shall copy, record, screenshot, photograph, publish or broadcast the Inquest or any portion of it, or otherwise disseminate such a record, including through messaging applications, on social media platforms, other internet sites, and/or other methods of instant communication.
