Inquest into the Death of Nicholas Taylor

Mr. Taylor, 31, died in hospital on May 10, 2019, following an interaction with officers from the Ontario Provincial Police on May 2, 2019, in Hawkesbury, Ontario. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Taylor’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last eight days and hear from approximately 12 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Dr. David Creery will be the presiding officer and Peter Napier will be the inquest counsel.
