Inquest into the Death of Nathaniel Krug
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025. Dr. David Eden will be the presiding officer and Phillip Tsui will be the inquest counsel.
Mr. Krug, 21 years old, died in hospital on March 10, 2021, after being transferred from the South West Detention Centre in Windsor. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Krug’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest is expected to last six days and hear from approximately nine witnesses.
