Inquest into the Death of an Unidentified Male

The unidentified male died on June 17, 2016, in the City of Toronto, after an interaction with officers from the Toronto Police Service near a rail line between Weston Road and Highway 400, south of Sheppard Avenue West. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the unidentified male’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and hear from approximately five witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10:00 a.m. on September 16, 2024, Richard Macklin will be the presiding officer and Kate Forget will be the inquest counsel.
