About the drive

In 2023, we decided to partner with Victim Services of Renfrew County. Victim Services of Renfrew County is a non-profit volunteer-based organization which assists police and other emergency services in providing emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced a crime, tragic life event or community disaster including:

Domestic Violence / Partner Assault
Sexual Violence
Human Trafficking

Our goal is to supply VSRC with devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and home security technology. These devices will not only help survivors stay safe but will also help them rebuild their lives away from their predator(s). We align strongly with VSRC’s statement of purpose.

Victim Services of Renfrew County Inc believes that every Victim has the right to heal from a crime or tragic circumstance. Our program creates opportunities, fosters hope and builds safer and healthier communities.

How to get involved

We’re collecting gently used devices from individuals, families, and companies that no longer have a purpose for their old tech. If you, a friend, a family member, or a colleague have recently replaced your old technology with something newer then we ask you to consider donating your old device to this cause.

If you’re part of an organization that has a heap of old technology laying around that’s been replaced by better and newer technology, we urge you to ask your IT department to consider donating the older, unused technology to this cause. In 2021, during our first-ever device drive, we saw huge success from small and large organizations donating their old equipment to our cause. We were able to help over 50 families by supplying them with laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.

If you have technology that you think is worth donating, give us a shout! Even if you don’t have some spare equipment, you can help spread the word so we can help as many people as possible. Consider sharing this page with friends, family, and colleagues!

If you don’t have any devices to donate, you can still help by spreading the word, or by donating funds to help us purchase missing equipment for donated devices!

Any money that is donated will go to missing accessories from devices that get donated, such as chargers, mice, keyboards, and power cables. With enough funding, we will also purchase additional devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and home security technology.

Erase your device before donating it!

While we are overjoyed to accept your donated devices, we can’t do much with them if it’s locked with your password. Make sure to fully erase all of the data on the device before passing it on. If you’re not sure how to do this for your device, we’ve provided some helpful resources below.


